The Water Management in Alberta’s Boreal 2025 – the “state” of Boreal Watersheds was a great success! The Athabasca Watershed Council, Lesser Slave Watershed Council and Mighty Peace Watershed Alliance came together from February 25-26 to host another watershed conference in Grande Prairie. One hundred and twenty people gathered to engage in conversation and take in 21 presentations on a variety of topics and from many different perspectives. The keynote speaker John Pattison-Williams with his presentation “Water, Water Everywhere and Not a Drop to Drink”: Exploring the myth of hyperabundance did an excellent job of bringing together our understanding of water, that which we don’t understand and how we manage water. Throughout the conferences people made connections with others involved in water and watershed issues.
