Strategic plan
We started the Strategic Plan review many months ago by reviewing the current Strategic Plan and IWMP (March and April Board Meetings). As it has been agreed that a great deal of time and effort went into the IWMP and we as an organization stand behind the recommendation presented within it, then a majority of our work should address the IWMP Outcomes and Strategies (as well as meet organizational commitments and requirements).
We have reviewed the IWMP Outcomes & Strategies and the 2015-2018 Strategic Plan, then charted the goals, outcomes and strategies to see if the 2 plans aligned. (Background information: the Chart of from responses at April Meeting and the IWMP Outcomes at a Glance Document )
At the August meeting, it was agreed:
-
- that there is in fact a high degree of coalition between the Goals & Strategies of the Strat Plan and the Outcomes & Strategies of the IWMP
- that the Goals and Strategies of the Strategic Plan continue to reflect the desired work of the MPWA
- that the Staff would work towards establishing action items for the Strategic Plan, and the board would review at the Nov/Dec meeting.
To that end the staff has prepared a review document of the current Strat Plan to see what had been achieved and where work was still required. ensured that the IWMP work is integrated into the MPWA organization (this has been included for your information. Then we prepared a Draft Strategic Plan for 2019-2024 (5 years) with short, medium, and long term items…..many items will be relevant to multiple terms.
Please review the Draft Strategic Plan 2019-2014 in preparation for the Dec 12 board Meeting.
